Author Biography

Roland Robertson Professor of Sociology and Global Society Emeritus, University of Aberdeen, UK and Distinguished Service Professor of Sociology Emeritus, University of Pittsburgh, USA. His previous books include Globalization: Social Theory and Global Culture, International Systems and the Modernization of Societies, The Sociological Interpretation of Religion and Globalization and Football. Anne Sophie Krossa Professor of Sociological Theory at the University of Siegen, Germany, previously Lecturer in European Studies at Lancaster University, UK. She founded the interdisciplinary 'Research Group on Europe and Globalization' at Lancaster University. Her most current book is Theorising Society in a Global Context.
