Author Biography

JEFF HEARN is the first Professor in Critical Studies on Men, Linkping University, Sweden, and Professor, Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki, Finland, and University of Huddersfield, UK. He has also been Research Professor, University of Manchester, Professor II, Oslo University and Visiting Professor in eight universities in four countries. His many publications include Handbook of Studies on Men and Masculinities (co-editor).

KEITH PRINGLE is Professor in Sociology with a specialism in Social Work, Uppsala University, Sweden, Research Professor in Social Work and Social Policy, London Metropolitan University, UK and Adjungeret Professor, Aalborg University, Denmark. He co-ordinated the EU Framework 5 Research Network 'The Social Problem of Men'. His many publications include The International Encyclopedia of Men and Masculinities (co-editor).

Critical Research on Men in Europe (CROME) is a research network of leading European researchers on men and masculinities, that has worked together on European projects since 1999.
