Author Biography

Ellen Weinstein is the real-life granddaughter of the first child depicted in the book, Jenny Weinstein from Russia. Ms. Weinstein is the illustrator of the picture book on Yayoi Kusama: From Here to Infinity, and the author/illustrator of Recipes for Good Luck. As an illustrator, she is a regular contributor to Time Magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, amongst many others. Seven pieces of Ellen’s work are in the Permanent Collection of the Library of Congress. She illustrated the cover of Pamela Paul’s book, My Life with Bob, and is a lifelong resident of the Lower East Side.
