Author Biography

Janis Turk is an award-winning travel writer, photographer, and editor whose writing and photography have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News, and San Antonio Express-News, as well as United Airlines’ Hemispheres, Luxx Living, and more. Ms. Turk also writes for Frommers.com and GoNomad.com. She is the co-author of The Groom’s Guidebook (Skyhorse 2007), her prose appears in the anthology Louisiana in Words (Pelican 2007), and she has written travel guides on New Orleans and San Antonio. She is also a guest travel consultant appearing on the NBC-affiliate San Antonio Living show. Ms. Turk divides her time between Texas and the New Orleans French Quarter. She won the GoNomad award for Best Travel Writing 2009.
