Summary

From the Old Vic to Broadway, from her Academy Award-winning role in Shakespeare in Love to the role of "M" in the James Bond films and the BBC's As Time Goes By, Judi Dench has bonded with fans of all ages. She made her professional acting debut, in 1957, with the Old Vic theatre company playing Ophelia in Hamlet. In 1968, she became a sensation as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, adding musical comedy to her repertoire. Over the years, Dench has given indelible performances in NoIl Coward's Hay Fever, Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music and,David Hare's Amy's View (for which she won a Tony). For the first time, in And Furthermore, Dench writes about her life on and off the stage, bringing it all alive with her impish sense of humor. For the paperback edition, Dench has added a foreword in response to questions she regularly receives from aspiring young actors called "Ten Things Every Young Actor Should Know", making this a book that fans -as well as future Denches, Oliviers and Redgraves-will cherish.
