Author Biography

Stian Hole lives in Oslo with his wife and three kids. He has a degree from the State's Handicraft and Art College in Oslo. He made his literary debut in 2005 with Den gamle mannen og hvalen (The Old Man and the Whale), which won the Ministry of Culture's Debut Prize. For his second book, Garmanns Sommer (Garmann's Summer) he won the prestigious Brage Prize in 2006, in addition to the Ministry of Culture's Picture Book Award 2007. In addition, he won the BolognaRagazzi Award 2007 and Deutscher Jugendliteraturepreis 2010. In 2010 he also won the Brage Prize for the third book about Garmann, Garmanns hemmelighet (Garmann's Secret).
