Summary

GNU debugger is the most useful tool for software developers during testing because it helps them catch bugs in the act and then pinpoint and correct problem code. GDB Pocket Reference is written for developers using a variety of languages. This handy reference covers the essentials of using the GNU debugger in a testing environment. Topics covered include how to specify a target for debugging and how to make a program stop on specified conditions. Further detail is provided on using the debugger to examine the stack, source files and data to find the cause of program failure, and then making quick changes to the program for further testing and debugging. GDB Pocket Reference also explains how to debug programs executing on the same machine (native) or on another machine (remote).
