Over the course of both investigations, Section 9 learns that Hashikami and the killer known as the "White Bear" are plotting to assassinate Shinra Mikomoto, the recently elected mayor of New Port City. This news sends the scattered members of Section 9 swooping down on the city, where everything hinges on the mayor's fate. 

Author Biography

A screenwriter, anime director, manga writer, and novelist, Junichi Fujisaku made major creative contributions to classic anime such as Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, and Blood+. His latest is the manga The Ghost in the Shell: Human Algorithm, a sequel to Shirow Masamune's The Ghost in the Shell 1.5: Human-Error Processor.

Yuki Yoshimoto is a manga artist whose debut is The Ghost in the Shell: Human Algorithm.
