Author Biography

BOIKE REHBEIN is Professor for the Sociology of Asia and Africa at Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. He has published widely on social theory, globalization and Southeast Asia. Recent publications include Globalization, Culture and Society in Laos and Globalization and Emerging Societies (co-edited with Jan Nederveen Pieterse).
