Author Biography

A writer, designer and keen renovator, Gary Cookson was introduced to boats at an early age thanks to growing up in a family of boating enthusiasts. Gary turned to a liveaboard lifestyle after discovering a neglected Dutch sailing barge in the mud of the River Medway in Kent. After a two year gruelling refit his rusting 72ft (22m) barge was transformed into a comfortable floating home moored on the River Thames. Gary currently runs his own graphic design business in Melbourne, Australia.
