Author Biography

Jean Mahoney and Peggy Landers Rao are New Yorkers who have spent many years in Japan, where they met and collaborated on their previous book, Japanese Accents in Western Interiors. Mahoney is a graphic designer and watercolorist with a wide background in advertising and art direction. Rao is a journalist and copywriter with extensive experience in publishing and advertising in New York and Switzerland. Toshiaki Sakuma is a well-known Tokyo photographer and specialist in homes and gardens
