Author Biography

Juliana Hutchings, the author of A Horse to Remember, is 17, a junior in high school. She was 14, when she started writing this story, based on a game she played with her older sister, Isabelle, and their model horses. These two sisters are still cooperating with Isabelle's pictures illustrating the book and cover.Hutchings grew up on a small horse farm in Landenberg, PA, and has ridden all her life. Her passion is competing in the sport of eventing, which combines dressage, cross country riding, and show jumping. When the heroine of A Horse to Remember learns to ride and compete in these events, Hutchings shares her expert knowledge with the reader so the beat of horse's hooves drums in the mind and ears. This high school junior, cares for 15 horses, competes in horse shows, and is also writing a new novel.
