Author Biography

Burke A. Cunha is Chief, Infectious Disease Division, Winthrop-University Hospital, Mineola, New York, and Professor of Medicine, State University of New York School of Medicine, Stony Brook, New York, USA. Dr. Cunha received his MD degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA. Dr. Cunha is the author or coauthor of more than 125 abstracts, 1100 articles, and 175 book chapters. He has edited 25 books on various infectious disease topics. Dr. Cunha is a Fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America. Dr. Cunha is recognized internationally as a teacher-clinician and is the recipient of many teaching awards. Dr. Cunha is a Master of the American College of Physicians which was awarded for lifetime achievement as a master clinician and teacher of infectious diseases.
