Author Biography

Jennifer Laden is the District Supervisor for Secondary Social Studies in the Harrison Central School
District in Harrison, New York, and taught social studies at Fox Lane High School in Bedford, New
York, from 1996 to 2009, where she developed the AP World History program. She has also served as
a reader and table leader for the AP World History exam.

Patrick Whelan has taught history at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School in Bradenton, Florida,
since 1988, where he helped develop the AP World History program. He has been a reader and/or
table leader for the AP World History exam since its inception in 2002.
