Author Biography


Karen Bonsignore, MA, RT is an associate professor in the Department of Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging at New York City College of Technology and is currently the project director of the Career ePortfolio web design project. She is certified in advanced imaging modalities, including mammography, quality management, and magnetic resonance imaging and computerized tomography. She has given numerous presentations on various radiology topics, most extensively ammography and breast imaging.

 

Myke Kudlas, MEd, RT is the director of the Mayo Clinic Radiography Program in Jacksonville, Florida, and assistant professor of Radiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He has written and presented xtensively in the areas of radiography and education, and is an active member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences, and the Jacksonville Society of Radiologic Technologists. He is a former item writer for the Developmental Testing Program of the College of St. Catherine and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

 

Dana Maiellaro, MEd, RT is an instructor in the Radiologic Technology Program at Nassau Community College. She also has an advanced certification in mammography. She has been program director of the Robert J. Hochstim School of Radiography at South Nassau Communities Hospital in New York and an assistant professor in the Department of Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging at New York City College of Technology. Her area of expertise is radiographic positioning and procedures, which she obtained working as both a diagnostic radiographer and CT technologist at several Level 1 trauma centers.

 

Abraham Thengampallil, MD is the former associate director of Medical Curriculum for Kaplan Medical. He received his MD at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn (SUNY Downstate Medical Center) and did residency training in Pediatrics at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Thengampallil currently works as a medical director for a medical education/strategic communications agency in New York.

 

Stinsey S. Thengampallil, RT has worked as a radiologic technologist in New York for more than 7 years. Her areas of clinical interest include mammography, bone densitometry, and diagnostic radiography. She received her Associate degree in Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging from New York City College of Technology. She is a New York state–licensed radiologic technologist certified in diagnostic radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). She is an active member of numerous professional organizations.
