Kate and the Family Tree is a story about a little girl who is excited to find out the secret that her mother has been working on. She struggles with many thoughts of what the secret could be including a new dog, a trip, going out to supper and other exciting secrets that appeal to children of her age. She implores her "Mom" to show her the secret as her mother has promised and is puzzled and then worried as she discovers what the secret turns out to be. Children will enjoy seeing the pictures of ancestors that the book contains as well as working with the family tree oriented activities that appear at the end of the book.
