Author Biography

Joan Sturkie is a founder and first president of the California Peer Counseling Association. A peer counseling consultant and former high school counselor, she has authored and co-authored several peer helping books, including Listening with Love, Acting It Out, The Peer Counseling Training Course, and The Peer Helper's Pocketbook. Charles Hanson, PhD, is a faculty member in Educational Psychology and Counseling at California State University, Northridge, and director of the school counseling program. A licensed clinical psychologist and peer counseling consultant, he has trained peer group facilitators, student peer helpers, and paraprofessional counselors.
