Author Biography

David S. Mason is a professor of political science at Butler University James R. Kluegel is a professor of sociology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Bernhard Christoph is a graduate research assistant in sociology at Humboldt University in Berlin. Ludmila Khakhulina is deputy director of the All-Russian Centre for Public Opinion Research in Moscow. Galja Krasteva is senior researcher at the Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia. Bodo Lippl is a junior researcher in sociology at Humboldt University in Berlin. Petr Mateju is a head of the research team on social stratification at the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and a member of the Czech Parliament. Andrej Nontchev is coordinator of the sociological program at the Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia. Antal Orkeny is professor of sociology at Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest. Margarita Pavlikianova is senior researcher at the Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia. Svetlana Stephenson is research fellow in European social policy, University of Luton, United Kingdom.
