Build a strong foundation of medical terminology, step by step

Medical Terminology: A Living Language uses a carefully constructed learning system to help readers master medical language and apply this knowledge to real-world contexts. Using a straightforward, logical approach, the text introduces the medical terminology associated with basic anatomy & physiology. Rather than memorizing terms, students will learn how to use word parts to build medical terms so they can interpret unfamiliar language. Phonetic spellings assist with pronunciation, and exercises offer hands-¿on practice to support mastery.

With 13 chapters, the 7th edition is ideal for a semester- or quarter-length course. Students will strengthen their term-building skills with the help of a comprehensive list of word parts and new practice problems targeting spelling, adjective formation, and grasp of basic A&P.

Personalize learning with MyLab Medical Terminology

MyLab™ Medical Terminology is an online homework, tutorial, and assessment program designed to work with this text to engage students and improve results. Within its structured environment, students practice what they learn, test their understanding, and pursue a personalized study plan that helps them better absorb course material and understand difficult concepts. No matter their learning style, students will build a solid foundation of medical language through its interactive games, Dynamic Study Modules, and narrated lectures. Learn more.
