Summary

Richly illustrated with over 250 colour images, this is the first in-depth study to be published in the English language of leading Serbain artist Milos Sobajic. Sobajic's work is a torrential outpouring of images in a wide variety of forms-paintings, sculptures, installations, and works that combine both painting and sculpture. These have gained him recognition as the leading Serbian artist of his generation, and led to comparisons with Francis Bacon, the classical surrealism of Salvador Dali, and the romanticism of Géricault. The book includes a complete catalogue of his work, along with a collection of essays.

Author Biography

Edward Lucie-Smith is a highly renowned British writer, poet, art critic, curator and author of exhibition catalogues. He has published more than a hundred books in all, including a biography of Joan of Arc (republished by Penguin in paperback as a "classic biography"), a historical novel, and more than sixty books about art, chiefly but not exclusively about contemporary work. He is generally regarded as one of the most prolific and most widely published writers on art, with sales for some titles totalling over 250,000 copies. A number of his art books, among them Movements in Art since 1945, Visual Arts in the 20th Century, A Dictionary of Art Terms and Art Today are used as standard texts throughout the world. Movements in Art since 1945, first published in 1969, has been continuously in print since that date, and has been completely updated five times since first publication. A new edition was published in March 2001.
