Author Biography

A journalist for one of the world's best-selling magazines, a reformed corporate lawyer, and a dedicated travel writer, Suzanne Nam is as comfortable interviewing Thailand's businessmen and politicians as she is asking a back-alley Chinatown chef for her secret recipe for duck noodles. Her mission is to give travelers the inside information that can turn a good trip to Thailand into a great one. You never know where Suzanne will turn up next. During the next political crisis, listen for her reports on the radio — she files for NPR's Marketplace — and Fox News Radio. Like all meaningful things, Suzanne's career was more a product of evolution than of planning. She grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She went to law school after college and practiced law for five years-enough time to produce a rainforest's worth of corporate paperwork. Then she gave it all up to study journalism at Columbia University. The world pulled her east, to London, the Middle East, and finally Bangkok, where she settled (for now at least). Suzanne's passions include food, photography, books, Bangkok's charismatic street dogs, and above all, writing.
