Author Biography

Judi Kurjian has always been fascinated with the idea of discovering clues about the past in the rocks under her feet. She majored in geography at Barnard College of Columbia University and has since continued in her readings on geology, history, archaeology, anthropology, and the glacial history of the earth.

Judi has worked for the Geological Society of America and the Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory of Columbia University. Her first book, IN MY OWN BACKYARD, uses informative text and illustrations to explain the history of the earth to children.

Judi lives in New Jersey with her husband and two daughters.
