Summary

Discussion and disagreements continue among Christians over the nature and the place of glossolalia or tongues. Few writers are more qualified to examine the biblical evidence concerning tongues than Dr. Merrill F. Unger, one of this century's most widely respected Bible scholars and seminary professors. Dr. Unger's concise but thorough examination of all the relevant New Testament passages and the evidence of church history helps Christian readers answer questions such as: Is the practice valid? Can it be scripturally sanctioned? What positive use or blessing does it have? Have its fruits in modern charismatic circles commended it to the church in general? Book jacket.
