Summary

Inspector Rostnikov is an honest policeman in a very dishonest post-Soviet Union Russia. He travels to Siberia to investigate a murder at a diamond mine, where he discovers an old secret--and an even bigger problem, in this fast-paced novel from an Edgar Award-winning author.

Author Biography

People Who Walk In Darkness is the latest in Edgar Award winner and MWA's Grand Master STUART M. KAMINSKY's Inspector Rostnikov mysteries. A Rostnikov title, Cold Red Sunrise, won Kaminsky a Best Novel Edgar in 1989. In addition to the Rostnikov series, Kaminsky is the author of the Abe Lieberman, Lew Fonesca, and Toby Peters series. He lives with his family in Sarasota, Florida.

Table of Contents

Praise for the Inspector Rostnikov series:

“Porfiry Petrovich Rostnikov is one of the better contemporary examples of an honest policeman navigating the shoals of a corrupt society…The particularly high stakes make this one of Rostnikov's more exciting investigations.”--Publishers Weekly on People Who Walk in Darkness

“Kaminsky works up plenty of sweaty-palmed suspense of the best sort, built out of equal parts of likeable characters and believable dangers.”
--Washington Post Book World on Red Chameleon

“Kaminsky takes care not to rob the beleaguered cops of their human core--a courtesy he also extends to Moscow, which comes across as a character in its own right, rough and dangerous and somehow tragic.”
--New York Times Book Review on The Dog Who Bit A Policeman
