Author Biography

Paul B. Janeczko says, "poetry will always be something of a mystery to me. When I read poetry, when I write a poem, I always wonder how poetry happens, and I imagine that many of you wonder, too. Happily, the poets in this book have agreed to share their poems as well as their thoughts about writing poetry. I hope their words will take hold of you and not let go for a long time." Mr. Janeczko, a teacher of highschool English as well as an author and anthologist, lives in Hebron, Maine. The English Journal called him "the best collector of poems working on behalf of young adults today," and five of his distinguished anthologies for Bradbury Press have been named ALA Best Books for Young Adults.
