Author Biography

Christine Cocker is a Principal Lecturer in Social Work at Middlesex University, UK, and is currently an independent member of a local authority adoption panel. Her research and publications are in the area of social work with looked after children, and lesbian and gay fostering and adoption.

Trish Hafford-Letchfield is a Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University, UK, and has worked in higher education for a number of years teaching on social work, social care and learning and teaching courses. Trish is a qualified nurse, social worker and teacher and has had a long career in statutory social work with the last 10 years as a manager in Adult Services. Trish has published a number of texts in the area of organisational and management development and sexuality; her current research interests are in the area of sexuality, widening participation and the lifelong learning of older people.
