He was chairman of the UK National Institute of Clinical Excellence guidelines on familial breast cancer, Chairman of the International Collaborative Group on Familial Breast and Ovarian Cancer and on the Editorial Board of Familial Cancer.
Professor Jan Friedman is editor of the journal Genetics in Medicine.
