Summary

Contrary to popular belief, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) isn't just a kids' disorder. In fact, after depression, it is the most common psychiatric disorder, affecting more than 8 million American adults. With symptoms that include difficulty staying focused, paying attention, and getting things done, this chronic condition takes a toll on career achievement and personal relationships - but is treatable and manageable.Dr. Lenard Adler, director of the Adult ADHD Program at New York University Medical Center, presents the latest proven information on this widely misunderstood condition, debunking common misconceptions, and offering information on getting an accurate diagnosis, along with treatment options.Clear, concise, and filled with instructive stories of adults from various walks of life who have learned to manage their ADHD, Scattered Minds provides much-needed practical information for a growing number of adults who suspect or know they have problems staying focused and performing to their full potential.
