Author Biography

DEB BUTTERFIELD is executive director of the Insulin-Free World Foundation (www.insulin-free.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people stay abreast of advances in the disciplines of immunology and transplantation to treat and cure diabetes. She lives in St. Louis and New York. DAVID E. R. SUTHERLAND, M.D., Ph.D., is a pioneer of pancreas and islet transplantation, and one of the world's leading authorities on cures for diabetes. He is professor of surgery and head of the Transplantation Division at the University of Minnesota.
