Summary

A Soldier of the Revolution tells the story of Michael Reardon, an easygoing and contemplative American who passes his days in the high plateau of a South American country gathering information that disappears into the maw of a cosmetics company's scholarly foundation. His slow, easy, and aimless life is interrupted when he is kidnapped by a ragtag bunch of guerillas who plan to hijack the local radio station and broadcast to the local Indians news of the impending revolution.

Author Biography

Ward Just is the author of several novels, including A Dangerous Friend, the National Book Award finalist Echo House, and Jack Gance. His groundbreaking book about Vietnam, To What End, is available from PublicAffairs. Just was recently named one of the first recipients of a Berlin Prize Fellowship from the American Academy. He lives in Martha's Vineyard with his wife, Sarah Catchpole.
