Summary

Author Biography

Joan Hiatt Harlow is the author of stories, articles, and poems that have appeared in books and magazines throughout North America and Europe, including Ranger Rick, Cricket, Chickadee, and Cobblestone. She is the author of Shadow Bear, illustrated by Jim Arnosky, and The Mysterious Doctor Chen, illustrated by Gary Rees, and she enjoys visiting classrooms to help children with their own writing. Ms. Harlow teaches "Writing for Children" for the national correspondence school, The Institute of Children's Literature, and she is also a certified graphologist (handwriting analyst). In the spring and summer, Ms. Harlow lives on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, and in the fall and winter she lives in Venice, Florida. Star in the Storm is her first novel.
