Author Biography

Linda Zionkowski is a professor of English at Ohio University. She is the author of Men's Work: Gender, Class, and the Professionalization of Poetry, 1660-1784 and the coeditor of The Culture of the Gift in Eighteenth-Century England. Downing Thomas is a professor of French at the University of Iowa. He is the author or coeditor of several books, including Aesthetics of Opera in the Ancien R+¬gime: 1647-1785 and Operatic Migrations: Transforming Works and Crossing Boundaries in Musical Drama.
