Max Borges is a Barcelona theater director who runs a small and eccentric company. On the opening day of Shakespeare's play Macbeth, Max is on the brink of collapse. Everything seems to go wrong in the role that should be his most sublime rise to fame: the witches are too beautiful, King Duncan's crown has been broken and his Macbeth smells suspiciously of Scotch whiskey...

However, as his clever assistant director, Elsa Soler, often reminds him, the show must always go on. Surprisingly, the theater goblin seems to have sprinkled them with his luck and the performance is an absolute success, so much so that they are invited to perform the play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest in the world. Author Biography

MÓNICA GUTIÉRREZ ARTERO nació en Barcelona y es licenciada en Periodismo y en Historia. Ha sido galardonada con varios premios y menciones en concursos de narrativa breve y poesía, y desde hace unos años también escribe ficción.

Es autora de siete novelas: Próxima Estación (2020), El invierno más oscuro (2018), Todos los veranos del mundo (2018), La librería del señor Livingstone (2017), El noviembre de Kate (2016), Un hotel en ninguna parte (2014) y Cuéntame una noctalia (2012). Todas han recibido una calurosa acogida por parte de los lectores y cuentan con más de un centenar de reseñas positivas en la red.

En la actualidad, desde su página personal (monicagutierrezartero.com) comenta lecturas, lleva a cabo actividades culturales de diversa índole y recoge las opiniones de los lectores sobre sus obras. Colabora como articulista en otros blogs e imparte un taller de novela.
