Summary

Since the dawn of stock car racing, there have been transcendent drivers whose skills, courage, and grit have made them legends in the sport. Award-winning motorsports journalist Frank Moriarty pens a stunning tribute to those superstars, from the dashing Tim Flock, famous in the first decade of NASCAR racing, to record-breakers Bobby Allison and Buddy Baker, to today's up-and-comers such as Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Ron Hornaday, and Buckshot Jones. Dozens of photographs show each generation of NASCAR heroes, their cars, and all the action on the track. Among the honored who appear: Mario Andretti, Richard Petty, Fireball Roberts, Neil Bonnett, Dale Earnhardt, Darrell Waltrip, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, and many more. The evocative text and the fabulous images capture all the skills and accomplishments of these amazing men.
