Author Biography

Lisa Varchol Perron writes picture books, middle grade novels, and poetry for children. Her poems have appeared in children’s magazines, online poetry journals, and anthologies, and she earned the 2021 Boston Authors Club Discovery Award for picture book writers. She lives outside of Boston with her geologist husband and two book-loving kids.

Jennifer Falkner (she/her) is an award-winning short story writer living in Ottawa, Canada, on the traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe First Nation. Her work has appeared in numerous publications in print and online, including Timeworn Literary JournalAgnes and True, and The Stonecoast Review, among others. She won the Little Bird Writing Contest in 2021, judged by Sheena Kamal, and placed first in the Retreat West short story competition, judged by Peter Jordan, the same year. Her short story, The Inventory, was nominated by Agnes and True for the 2019 Journey Prize. In 2018, she was awarded first and second place in the Dorothy Dunnett/HWA short story competition. She is the author of Susanna Hall, Her Book and Above Discovery, a short story collection.
