Summary

In this selection of columns, published over more than five years on the back cover of El País , Leila Guerriero, one of the great firms in Latin American narrative journalism, places herself in the spotlight. With fierce and precise prose, the author dives into the subtlety of our lifes in order to shed light on what remains hidden in us, bewildering us with the spark of everyday reality. What are these texts about? Among many other things, “of the size of the dryness of our hearts. Of cabbages and kings, of why the sea boils and whether pigs have wings. Of the horror of love when it ends. Of all the things that were made to be forgotten that we have never left behind; of the things that were to stay with us forever (the pain, the dead loved ones, that afternoon in the sand) and that, nevertheless, we have forgotten». A set of writings that, in addition to forming a beautiful constellation of her memories, readings and reflections, strikes the reader with the force of the best literature.
