Author Biography

D.C. Moses origins and early life serve as source and inspiration for Train from Thompsonville. After graduation from Antioch College in Ohio and an M.A. degree in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa, Moses and her husband traveled to Alaska, where she managed an advertising copy department at a Fairbanks TV station. Shortly thereafter, she initiated a nearly two-decade career in high school and college teaching of English and creative Writing, twice heading up departments, and on occasion, publishing articles in educational journals. Most recently, in a sharply contrasting career change, she spent more than a decade producing and helping direct Investor Communications for a well-known Los Angeles real estate investment firm. Living in a dozen states from coast to coast across the nation (largely mandated by her husband's job transfers), through fat times and thin, she garnered a cornucopia of impressions and personalities vividly presented in her first novel, Family Matters.Train from Thompsonville represents a vibrant, if poignant, return to sources, a thoughtful reprise on the beginnings of a journey.
