Since 1954, John F. Blair, Publisher, has been specializing in nonfiction books about the Southeastern United States, and specifically about the state of North Carolina. Over the years, we have launched several travel guide series, including our popular Touring the Backroadsa Series, developed by Blair president Carolyn Sakowski. To claim that the staff at Blair knows something about travel in the state is no small assertion. Moreover, no editorial board could have given more scrupulous attention to detail.

Among the contributors to the book are travelers of every ilk. Deb Baldwin is passionate about the arts, particularly the performing arts. Luckily, the Triangle offers some of the best in the state. Sue Clark and family love to camp, and scarcely a week during spring and fall passes that they don't load up their camper and head for a campground.
