Author Biography

Geoff Swaine's early childhood was spent in Somerset before his parents moved to Central London. He often visited the big London stations with his father and this started his passion for steam. After leaving school he went to work on the railways but then went on to take up a career in architecture. He has the notable distinction of being a prizewinner in the 1978 Victoria Architecture Measured Drawing Competition where the subject was an Essex branch line terminus
