Summary

5th graders from Rainelle Elementary School have co-authored a book with the guidance of children¿s book authors, Martin & Delia Wach, about the war veterans who arrive in their town, Rainelle, WV, every year on Memorial Day weekend. 2007 will be the 19th year for this celebration. The impact these bikers have had on the students and their school is remarkable and vice versa. The veterans have adopted the school and donated over $100,000 to the school for playground equipment and library furniture. This is a story of heros, patriotism, and a West Virginia community who welcomes veterans into their hearts and homes every Memorial Day. Rainelle, WV gives these veterans the homecoming so many of them never had. The students and the Wachs will be on tour with Waldenbooks and Borders this summer signing their books.
