Summary

Washington is one of the greatest places to visit in the United States and the Evergreen nickname doesn't do much justice either. The generally mild climate and ubiquitous rainfall lend a refreshing year-round lush greenery to much of the state's landscape. But there is much more. Perpetually snowcapped mountains, including the majestic Mount Rainier, glaciers, rushing rivers, rocky seacoasts and dense rain forests are all part of Washington's varied natural scenery. Both the traveler who gets most of his or her scenery from the car and the adventurer who likes mountain climbing, white-water rafting or hiking will find much to suit their likes.
