Author Biography

Orlando Espín is former University Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego, USA, where he taught from 1990 until his retirement in 2019. Regarded as one of the founders of U.S. Latinoax theology, Espín is the author of more than 450 academic articles and the author or editor of twelve books, including An Introductory Dictionary of Theology and Religious Studies (edited with James B. Nickoloff, 2007), Building Bridges, Doing Justice: Constructing a Latino/a Ecumenical Theology (2009), and Idol and Grace: On Traditioning and Subversive Hope (2014). He was the founder and first Chief Editor of the Journal of Hispanic/Latino Theology.
