Author Biography

Alastair Balfour is an experienced journalist, writer, and business manager. His journalistic career began in newspapers, and in 1983 he started a monthly business magazine, Scottish Business Insider, which grew to become the leading business publishing company in Scotland. The magazine was sold in 1999, and Alastair is now pursuing a variety of interests, including consultancy and writing. Peter Hingston has over 20 years' experience running small businesses, ranging from electronics manufacturing to magazine and book publishing. He has written three highly successful books on key aspects of running a small business. He has also spent two years as the director of a local small-business agency, giving practical advice and guidance to people interested in setting up their own businesses.
