Excerpts

The city of Tours, capital of the Loire Valley region, has no great renaissance château of its own. Yet, to the French mind, Tours is the very essence of what these palatial aristocratic Renaissance homes are all about. The city has a long reputation for civilization, culture and refinement. Great restaurants, chic shopping, style and flair the city possesses in plenty and, even in today's France, the Tours accent is considered the 'best' in the land.
