Dan D'Alimonte is a chemical worker, teacher and poet. Out of Amherstburg, Ont., where he was raised, he writes about life in the factory, in the classroom, and growing up in a small town. D'Alimonte's vision is disturbing and real. He writes about a man who comes home from the factory, upset about the effects of working in a factory, and how it is ruining his health, but comforts himself in knowing that he is making $25 an hour. D'Alimonte's assessment of the modern world is honest and straightforward. But he also sees the wry humor in the society in which he lives. Heads or Tails is his second book of poetry. His first book, Still Waters, was published in 1998. It received critical attention from Southam News which reported that he "sings with that down to earth vision that reminds us of how we have forgotten just how human we are..."
