The second of three different editions of Rene Louis d'Argenson's Memoires/Journal published in the 19th C.The editor of the 1825 Memoires and the 1857-58 Memoires et Journal was Charles Marc Rene de Voyer,Marquis d'Argenson (1796-1862), the grandson of Rene Louis' brother Marc Pierre de Voyer de Paulmy Minister of War in the 1740's and early 1750's. The only other edition of d'Argenson's Journal et Memoires du Marquis d'Argenson and the generally accepted edition was edited by E.J.B. Rathery and published in eight volumes between 1859 and 1865.
