Author Biography

Diane M. Hirakawa (Ms. MATH) is a 25-year veteran elementary school teacher, with a Master of Arts degree from San Diego State University, and a G.A.T.E. certificate from the University of California, San Diego. Officially retired from public schools in January 2006, she continues to share her experience with parents, new teachers, and students. She educates elementary age students, along with their parents, as the private math tutor known as Ms. MATH! Ms Hirakawa is also an instructor with Southwestern College's Continuing Education program, teaching ôParent-Student Math Secrets Workshopsö. Her Math Workshops in several Chula Vista area schools receive excellent evaluations. She still loves math, as do her two sons, Brad Hirakawa, a research scientist, and Brian Hirakawa, a high school math teacher.
