Author Biography


Julia Davis, Associate Professor, University of South Australia,Marco Rizzie, Senior Lecturer, University of Western Australia,Kate Offer, Assistant Professor,

Julia Davis is an Associate Professor in Law and Program Director in Law and Legal Studies at the School of Law in the UniSA Business School. As Associate Professor in Law she teaches in the Honours program and researches in tort law, sentencing law and jury studies. As Program Director, she supports students in the law and legal studies programs.

Julia Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA), and Honours degree in Law (LLB) and a PhD in law. Her current research focuses on developing new methods of measuring informed public opinion on sentencing and her research findings have been published both nationally and internationally, including in the British Journal of Criminology and in Punishment and Society.

Marco Rizzie joined UWA Law School in 2018 where he teaches in the JD and LLM programs. He obtained an LLB and a Master of Laws in Civil Law at the University of Pisa (Italy) and a Diploma License in Legal Sciences, awarded with honours, at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa. In 2010 he obtained an LLM in European, Comparative and International Law from the European University Institute in Florence (Italy), where he went on to undertake research for his PhD, awarded in 2015. Prior to joining UWA he has been Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Law at the University of Seychelles.

Kate Offer teaches Torts and Evidence in the Law School at UWA and Education Law in the Graduate School of Education. She is co-author of Field & Offer 'Western Australian Evidence Law'. Her research focus is Evidence, Education Law and Legal Education. Kate served as a board member on the Wesley College Council from 2007 - 2015. She is currently chair of the second Disciplinary Committee of the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia.
