Written in three languages – English, French, and Spanish – and filled with beautiful color illustrations, "Marcelin and Marcy" is an impactful story that teaches environmental lessons to children. This important book encourages kids and their parents to talk about respecting our environment, instilling good habits when we dispose of trash, and maintaining a cleaner and happier world for themselves and for generations to come.

Marcelin & Marcy want to make the world a better place by picking up trash in their community. They soon discover it is too big an undertaking for just two young elephants, so they enlist their animal friends to help clean up. Eventually, they realize that picking up trash is not enough to keep our neighborhoods clean. How does garbage end up where it should not be? Who is responsible? What will Marcelin & Marcy decide to do next? Find out in this endearing children's story that advocates for a cleaner world!

Author Biography

Claude-Alain Solliard grew up in Saviese, Switzerland, and moved to New York as a young chef to work at some of the city's most celebrated restaurants, including Lespinasse, San Domenico, Le Cirque, and Raoul's. He was also the chef-owner of the highly popular bistro Seppi's at Le Parker Meridien New York.

An avid runner, Solliard trains for the New York City Marathon by running and biking in Central Park and all over the city. It was on these daily runs when he grew frustrated with the amount of trash he encountered everywhere and founded the "Pick It Up, Please" trash awareness cause. After his friend Serge Durka suggested he start by teaching children how to respect our environment and establish better habits for the future, Solliard created the story of Marcelin and Marcy the Elephants for a cleaner world.
