Barbara Marlene Bennett Webb was born in Macedonia, Illinois, in the two-story brick house built years earlier by her great-grandfather, Reverend Kenan Ingram. A writer and an artist, Webb studied fine arts at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale under the direction of Larry Bernstein, Michael Onkin, and Herbert Fink. In 1986, she was awarded a fellowship from The Mitchell Museum in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Webb's art has been featured in juried art exhibits in the Midwest, with her depictions of Pink Flossie receiving critical and popular acclaim. Webb works from a home studio located in Ewing, Illinois. She and her husband, Cy, have six children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
